THE
Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) will hold a children's indoor sports carnival
at the OCM Indoor Arena today.
The carnival will see children competing in three-on-three tournaments in two
sports, netball and futsal.
They will also be put through some skills activities.
A total of 53 boys and 40 girls will be competing in the inaugural event, which
is being conducted by the OCM Women and Sport Committee. |
Children from six orphanages wll be involved, namely Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim
Darul Izzah, Rumah Hope, Asrama Darul Falah, Rumah Victory, Persatuan
Kebajikan Tri-Ratana and Sri Shenbagavalli Ashram Berhad.
"We want to give the children from these homes an opportunity to take part
in sports," said OCM vice-president Low Beng Choo, who is the chairperson of
the Organizing Committee.
The sports carnival will start at 8am with the prize presentation scheduled
for 1pm.
