I
want to lead a better life.
After my study in primary school, I had lost interest in books and exercises.
Meanwhile, my parents also had divorced at that time and for me, family is just
a house with four walls and a television. I stayed with my father and he didn't
actually understand me and is busy with his works every day. Hence, I always
hang put at the cyber café where I met friends and we play game, smoke, and have
fun together.
In order to find more money, which are very in needed for my "carefree" life, I
started to steal money from my father and sister. I even sold drugs with my
friends and will split the profits gained. |
At first, I felt scare of doing so, however, when time passed and with a few
success as well as all the "encouragement" I have, I started to be more and
more bold.
Eventually, my father discovered that I am involved in drugs and he together
with my big brother forced me to the
Youth Centre.
Life in there was full of rules and regulations. I was ordered to wash my
own clothes, to cook, to do housework which I think that it is a great
insult for me to do such work. Thus, after three months in that place, me
and two others new friends of mine run away from the centre.
After I ran away from the centre, I lead a painful and miserable life with
no aims and purposes nor hope. When the person in charge of the centre,
Chee Onn realized that I had ran away,
he visited my house for several times and never quit in showing his concern
to me, advising me and etc. Finally, I am touched by his sincerity and
decided to go back to the centre.
Back to the centre, I learnt many things, and received many helps from the
volunteer workers of the centre. They have tuitions for us so that we can
learn English, can learn about the bible and others skills or knowledge
needed. Here, I discovered what that I had always intended to have, love.
Furthermore, I also had repaired and refined my relationship with my family
members, my father don't need to keep worry for me and he had also trusted
me, as a son that he proud of.
Lastly, I intended to thank the person in charge,
Chee Onn and other volunteer workers
that had helped me as well as other person in this centre much. They never
give up on me and that is why I can get a second chance and be here today.
Thank You.
