Worry
- Through a newspaper report I came to know about House of Victory, and I made a
telephone call that changed my life...
Today, news and stories about single mothers is no longer something new or
shocking. But to experience being a single mother myself is itself even more
difficult than being anybody.
I have to work but have no time to look after my 6 year-old son and my mother
has to look after him. Every night my mother will complain that my son is very
naughty and this adds on to my burden and stress. |
After my divorce, I had to carry the name of "the single mother" and this was
not really easy. My worry about my son increased and was so bad until I was
unable to focus in my work.
As I just walked out from a painful marriage, I felt so lonely woeful.
Fortunately, my only child has become my moral support and motivation to
continue to live on. And I fought hard to have the custody of the child.
Relieved - May, 2004, I brought my son Soon Keat to Rumah Victory child for
interview. They requested me for the payment of the living expenses and this
became my pressure and burden. Although it is a reasonable charge, I was
actually not able to pay. I told them about our background and our life
experience.
After Rumah Victory knew about my real situation, the people in charge made a
comment which really touched me and moved me to tears and I cried uncontrollably
when they said: "Rumah Victory is established to help those who need, do not for
worry about the living expenses, because Jesus loves you!" These words made me
feel relieved.
4 June 2004, I felt relieved to send my son, Soon Keat to Rumah Victory
Happy - When visiting my son Soon Keat, Brother Philip Mok (the Founder of Rumah
Victory) and supervisor encouraged and comforted me and encouraged me to live on
with courage. Soon Keat shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with me and cared for
me. I felt so touched, comforted and appreciated that Soon Keat is growing up in
a healthy environment. I feel very grateful that I came to know the Rumah
Victory and again I want to extend my thankfulness.
